This is a safety and health concern for all residents living in Durbanville. Not to mention that it is a huge eye sore to anyone traveling through town. It is drawing more crime to our neighborhood and needs to be put to an end.

Have lived here for over 50 years and am very displeased in it looking like and smelling like a squatter camp! This is the negative outcome of providing soup kitchen and other assistance for the needy! We are attracting them here!!!

Anton Visser (Durbanville, 2022-07-17)

Unsightly, unsanitary, unsafe

Toni Kotze (Durbanville, Cape Town, 2022-07-17)

#2361

For everybody's safety and to avoid deflation on the value of properties in these areas, these people have to be moved to a location out of town where there is facilities (toilets) for them.
It will become very dangerous for the young one's in school and for all Rates payers living in these areas where more and more people put up tents to live in.

Joey Croucamp (Cape Town, 2022-07-17)

#2362

The problem will become worse, no amenities. Need to find a suitable location

Audrie Riddell (Durbanville, 2022-07-17)

I stay in Durbanville and I do not think it is ok for “random” people to set up tents in my “dorp” that I have lived in for more than 32 years

ingrid du preez (Cape Town, 2022-07-17)

#2377

Mathys Cockrell (Durbanville, 2022-07-17)

#2381

I have mysrlf seen the emerging of "an informal settlement" as per the formal letter by Mr Richard Downing to the Mayor and I am in full support of the concern pertaining thereto, noted and in full agreement with the alternative measures proposed to be taken.

I am deadly worried abiut the hygiene of the sutuation and also feel that we, as a city, can offer them much better housing and opportunities.

IJM Van Niekerk (43 Burton Street, Durbanville, 7550, 2022-07-17)

#2391

I am signing because as a resident of Durbanvillle it is concerning to see how this tent town has grown from 2 to 8 and now 17 tents whiich is a HUGE CONCERN.
We as residents wil not allow a informal settlement like Du Noon to develop rigjt under our noses in the Centre of our town.
There are no facilities at Baxter Street and besides a health hazard, the sight of people defecating is not what anybody can accept, especially not when we have a primary school right there. This is not what children should be subjected to.
We would like to find a solution!!!

Gerda Hofmeyr (Durbanville, 2022-07-17)
