You are doing the students and teachers of GCISD a huge disservice by removing such a great, caring educator. I have worked with Dr.Whitfield in the past and he has changed the way I view my job. He reminded me that students need compassion and educators who will fight for them, if need be.Erica Apostalo (Conroe, 2021-09-16)

Dr Whitfield is a caring and kind individual. Having worked in GCISD in the past I am keenly aware of the crazy witch hunts small factions of people can participate in. It would be a huge loss for the students to lose a fine educator like Dr WhitfieldMelissa Herring (North Richland Hills, 2021-09-17)

I've know James Whitfield for over 17 years and he has always been such a fair compassionate man. And such a loving caring teacher and role model for our children. Any school should be honored to have him at their school. Ask the students they all love him and it shows.Jan Guest (North Richland hills, 2021-09-17)

I can honestly say I’m ashamed of GCISD and the blatant unfairness to Dr. Whitfield. I’m a recent retired teacher from GCISD after 26 years. I’m appalled by the disgrace and disrespect shown to James. Shame on the administration for not supporting a great educator and principal in the district.Praying!!

It is wrong to determine that a very capable school administrator should be suspended due to the blatant racism of specific parents who are not willing to accept the fact that there is diversity in this country. It is shameful indeed!JACQUELYN JEFFERSON (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 2021-09-18)

There are so many issues that need to be addressed in GCISD! Thank you Dr. Whitfield for standing tall!Leigh Hockenbrough (Grapevine, 2021-09-19)

Dr. Whitfield is an outstanding educator and administrator who believes in kids, and believes there are no bad kids, just kids who haven’t been reached. His goal is to reach every child, and provide them with an education of the whole person, beyond just basic academics, so that each graduate is prepared for college, vocations, or whatever goals they have set. He wants to ensure that every child has an opportunity for success, and seeks creative, innovative ways to help his students fully engage in the education process, and enjoy learning. Dr Whitfield has been recognized multiple times, including on Dateline, for his great approach. Any district in America would benefit from this man. It is a shame that in 2021, listening to the school board meetings of late, sounds like watching a documentary covering school discrimination during the civil rights movement in America. I am deeply saddened, that people cannot set their hate and racism aside, in favor of a truly united country. Shame on you people!Andy Tewes (North Richland Hills, 2021-09-19)

I support the open discussions that Dr Whitfield provided. I support the focus on students that he does. I support the work he has done and don't need the intervention of outside forces. Let's focus on our kids, that what he does!Lanese Turner (Colleyville, 2021-09-20)

They have no valid reasons to put this Principle thru this!! I have lived in Bedford for several years. This by far is best principal. Listen to the students! They have valid points as to why this is so unethical. School board should all be fired as this racist decision and should not he tolerated.Sheryle Moses (Bedford, 2021-09-20)

I do not believe there is a valid reason for his removal. I do not believe in CRT either, but he was not teaching this. It is interesting that the first black principal in GCISD would be accused of this even though he himself denies it. It appears he believes in his students ( all of them), acceptance of diversity, and the rejection of racism. That is not CRT. Strangely, even though I do not personally believe in CRT, the GCISD have made themselves a possible example of it. How ironic! The reasons cited at last nights school board meeting were overly broad and nonspecific. Seemed like “smoke and mirrors”.Beverly Perez (Colleyville, 2021-09-22)

I believe Dr. James Whitfield is the subject of racially motivated defamation. His treatment highlights exactly why we need compassionate individuals of all backgrounds in our educational system.Kayla Dantes-Perry (Richmond Hill, 2021-09-23)

Dr. Whitfield was a teacher at Richland High school when I was there and I heard and saw nothing but great things from friends who had him as their teacher. He loved all his students and would greet them in front of his classroom with a big smile. When I asked several of my friends who their favorite teacher was many would respond with Coach Whitfield. He made school fun for students, they wanted to be there in his class and at the end of the day I believe that the students are the most important piece. He went above and beyond and I can only imagine he is doing exactly that as a principle. #ISTANDWITHDRWHITFIELDDaniel Skinner (Bedford, 2021-09-25)

This situation with Dr. Whitfield is a prime example of what is wring with America today. He has done absolutely nothing wrong and is being falsely accused by children who are indoctrinated by their parents own selfish and twisted beliefs. He is amazing and has done amazing things across many districts and for this to even be a conversation being had is ridiculous. This is an amazing educator with amazing morals and an amazing family. Let him keep his job and leave him be! #IStandWithDrWhitfieldSolyn Tidwell (North Richland Hills, 2021-09-30)

Critical race theory is crucial education in order to raise future generations so that they understand the legacy of their country, good and bad, and are able to have a nuanced and respectful understanding of those whose ethnic and social backgrounds differ from their own.Cody Kenner (Eldorado, 2021-11-10)

I AM SIGNING THIS PETITION BECAUSE THERE ARE PEOPLE ATTACKING AND CRITICIZING CRT...CRITICAL RACE THEORY..AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT IS EVEN ABOUT.CRT SHOULD BE ABOUT LEARNING THE VALUES AND STRUGGLES OF EACH AND EVERY RACE OR NATIONALITY. ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT ARE LISTED TO CHECK OFF ON ANY APPLICATION FOR BENEFITS OR SERVICES. I BELIEVE THERE ARE MAYBE 8 DIFFERENT NATIONALITIES AND ETHNICITIES LISTED ON SO MANY APPLICATIONS AND FORMS BEING UTILIZED IN THIS COUNTRY....YET WE WERE NOT AND ARE NOT TAUGHT HARDLY ANYTHING OF THESE PEOPLE. WE ARE LOSING A LOT OF VALUABLE KNOWLEDGE OF PEOPLE THAT MAKE UP THIS COUNTRY AND THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. JUST LIKE THEY USE A TIMELINE TO TEACH AMERICAN HISTORY..THEY CAN ALSO USE A TIMELINE TO TEACH CRT. BECAUSE MANY PEOPLE AND HISTORICAL EVENTS WERE RUNNING CONCURRENTLY ALONGSIDE US AND AMERICAN HISTORY THAT WE HAVE YET TO LEARN ABOUT. FOR EXAMPLE HOW MANY NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN TRIBES CAN A STUDENT NAME IN GRADES 1-12..???
I AM NOTICING THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE BAITING CRT AS BLACK VERSUS WHITE HOWEVER THAT IS NOT THE CASE. CRT IS AND SHOULD BE ABOUT THE VALUES AND THE STRUGGLES OF ALL GROUPS THAT MAKE THIS COUNTRY SO DIVERSE IN ITS GREATNESS. THANK YOU.
