I'm signing because my wife and I had a holiday at Bridlington. During our stay we were able to unwind completely with like minded people. It was refreshing and reduced some of my wives stress and anxiety. It was the best medicine ever.(Nottingham, 2019-11-23)
#2004
This help veterans and service people a chance to have a holiday that they may never have had! There is a need for respite and these places help people to get peace.(Bridlington, 2019-11-23)
#2012
Places like these are needed by all ages of person as normal Holliday and respite places don't cater for the special needs of these veterans or understand the problems arising from said needs.(Liverpool, 2019-11-23)
#2013
Having seen the difference the Weston home has made to beneficiaries and their families I realise the complete and total benefit these units have made to those in need we support. I feel this is a betrayal of all we stand for in the RBL.(Ashford, 2019-11-23)

I am signing to express my opinion on the recent announcement of the closing of four RBL houses which I find unhelpful and against the best interest of those who need help when in need. The RBL must withdraw this decision or remove their signature from the MoDcharter and refund all the subscriptions to all servicemen and women with interest.(Darlington, 2019-11-23)
#2025
I believe these are valuable assets for veterans.(Ipswich, 2019-11-23)

#2034
I want the only rbl in ni to stay here for the purpose it has been used for, veterans living in ni are being left hi and dry if this is shut.in turn it will do more damage than good by closing this facility rbl will loose a lot of support..(Limavady, 2019-11-23)

#2058
I'm a member of the Riders Branch, I knew of these Poppy Break Centre's , thought they were a good idea but underused due to RBL regulations, but the regulations for use should be looked at to ensure more use, not selling them for corporate policy!(Newtownards, 2019-11-23)
#2059
This is a disgrace this place does a lot of goodWhere is all the money going from the poppy appeal
(HARROW, 2019-11-23)
#2060
I feel the RBL is making a very bad mistake.(Gravesend, 2019-11-23)
#2064
This is why we buy poppies every year to support those that need it. The RBL should do what they are paid handsomely to do.... look after our ex service personnel and their dependents.(Halifax, 2019-11-23)
#2066
With all this dosh why in gods name close places that could actually help our community?(worcester, 2019-11-23)

Byng House has been a real help twice for my elderly parents. My dad served national service and has had major heart surgery. Byng house has been really good for both my parents to help give them a rest from day to day chores(SOUTHPORT, 2019-11-23)
#2075
Come and look at what Byng House does. It is local. And it makes a difference..... what other reason do you need.(Southport, 2019-11-23)
#2078
Because the RBL needs to provide support where it needed if these centres have provided valuable help and support then they are important I personally not been as my Partner does feel like he wants BUT I know many who have and it has done miracles in helping them through troubled times(Ipswich, 2019-11-23)
#2079
N.I. vets need a place to get away from the norm(Portadown, 2019-11-23)
#2080
Ex-service and there families depend on the short break they recieve and can relax at these centers they feel safe at these locations and can express with others about there time in military service it hear they are able to open up and speak to othersPersonally i think its a disgrace and a insult to those who lay down there life to keep our country safe those who proposed this motion should be ashamed of themselves
(Co armagh, 2019-11-23)
#2082
My wife and I stayed there fron 9th to 16th October 2019. The care and attention the staff and volunteers provide is truly awe inspiring. You don't know you needed a break until you stay at an RBL Break centre. All your woes and anxieties are soon a thing of the past. The centres are truly live savers.(Barnsley, 2019-11-23)
#2083
With over £30 million in the bank, this is unacceptable. This is the core function of the organisation.
An essential Service to those who gave Service.
Wish to save money, move HQ OUT of London.
(Granada, 2019-11-23)
#2085
My mother was to use this facility being an ex ATS girl during the war. I would like to know the real reason why these centres are closing.(Southport, 2019-11-23)
#2093
As a veteran of the RAF this is vital and needs to remsin open(Burscough, 2019-11-23)
#2095
i’m an employee at bennet house and i see first hand day in day out all the good that veterans and ex service men and women gain from our break centre.(ballycastle, 2019-11-23)
#2096
I have had previous help with royal british legion when I was in need of a home. I never even knew u could have sometimes away for free. But reading this I'm very saddened. They should keep growing and expanding then closing places down. There are to many of us veterans with Ill health that could do with a break and the isolation i get that myself. I love chatting with veterans give u that sence of belonging again.(Hartlepool, 2019-11-23)
#2097
Somerset House offer so much.(Weston-super-Mare, 2019-11-23)

#2113
I want to save byng house because we need places like this were people can go and get a bit of respite and meet new friends .(Bury, 2019-11-24)
#2114
The rbl should be there to serve veterans and sadly over the last number of years it has failed in its purpose in the strive to make money.More centres like this are needed not less. Rbl hang your head in Shame
(Stafford, 2019-11-24)
#2116
Vets that need a short break but because of their circumstances are unable to afford one the Poppy Break Centers provided this service they help 1000s each year a well need service.(Stafford, 2019-11-24)
#2118
A very dear friend, holder of the Legion de Honneur, who passed away recently was a regular visitor to break centres. They provide a unique opportunity for ex servicemen and women to enjoy a holiday where they can find companionship and friendship.(Auchenblae, 2019-11-24)
#2127
I'm singing this Petition as I feel that vetrons need places like this to go to where they are around personnel and can relax(Co.Armagh, 2019-11-24)
#2128
I have supported the British Legion for over 50 years. As a member I attended their annual conference a few years ago. What I experienced were a lot of overpaid executives on expenses, patting themselves on the back before returning to their London offices. This is NOT what we raise money for!(Steyning, 2019-11-24)
#2130
They should stay open(Kidwelly, 2019-11-24)
#2131
It’s a disgrace after all the fundraising done on their behalf. I will review my membership and support(Belfast, 2019-11-24)
#2134
Until now I didn't know they existed. I would love use them even if it means paying. I care for disabled sons and don't have anyone to go away with so this would be ideal for me(Stockport, 2019-11-24)
#2135
I am signing as I cannot believe this is happening at all and equally for a charity to do this at Christmas time - disgraceful. Maybe poor management of the Legion then! Sure something can be done to make better use of this facility - so Veterans can still use this respite place.(Southport, 2019-11-24)
#2136
As a British Legion Rider I work very hard with my fellow rider's to raise as much cash as possible. We also raise the profile of the RBL and inform the public of the excellent work that the RBL does within the military community. The loss of the Centre's and Van services would be a loss to the RBL and, I feel, the core reason the RBL exist.(Leicester, 2019-11-24)
#2138
It is a good cause xx(Cheshire, 2019-11-24)
#2141
These centre are sorely needed(Harrogate, 2019-11-24)
#2142
Everyone deserves a break especially those veterans and current service men and women who can’t necessarily afford one and as someone who contributes to funds being raised I believe that we are again seeing senior members of charities only thinking about their pockets, spending time with people who have experienced similar to what you have and sharing, talking about happy and sad, is good and meaningful therapy!(Weston-Super-Mare, 2019-11-24)
#2144
I gave, as lots of others did, our time to make Northern Ireland a safer, better place to live. This is the thanks we get from the RBL.
Shame on you keep Bennett house open by making appeals to all that funds are needed.
(Belfast, 2019-11-24)
#2145
Stop this abhorrent closure of vital services(Abercynon, 2019-11-24)
#2146
It's a bloody disgrace.these places are needed for vets and families to have a break(Goole, 2019-11-24)
#2148
The RBL have not only chosen to withdraw this handy care and respite service from those that desperately need this, they have chosen the timing to coincide in the gap between Rememberance Sunday and Christmas. The wreaths are still on display at the cenotaph, the country is unable to raise this in parliament due to us being on the run up to an election. It's a disgrace!!!(Southport, 2019-11-24)
#2149
I am a veteran l have used this facility as l am disabled and it gave my wife who is my carer a break .We also use Byng house for our veteran meetings .(Merseyside, 2019-11-24)
#2150
The hotels have been a great source of support for veterans and their families. The money raised by the public for supporting veterans should be used to help fund these hotels. I donate to the RBL monthly and I feel now I will cancel this and use it for more local veteran charities. Outrageous decision and coincidence this news should be announced after Poppy Appeal(Oldham, 2019-11-24)
#2151
How can this be justifiable, when the veterans in the UK are still losing their lives in desperation, still needing respite, it’s disgusting that RBL are a multi million pound entity and can’t run 4 sites....get rid of those creaming from the top and keep these centres open(Newcastle-under-Lyme, 2019-11-24)
#2152
The legion is becoming more about making money than actually supporting veterans and the military community.(Folkestone, 2019-11-24)
#2153
These are facilities which are needed, it is or money they run onu(Andover, 2019-11-24)
#2154
this should not be happening(bristol, 2019-11-24)
#2155
Having worked for military charities, the running costs, in particular salaries, seem disproportionate.(Fordingbridge, 2019-11-24)
#2158
This house is used for family breaks and time away from the norm(Ashington, 2019-11-24)
#2159
I disagreed that the centres should be closed(New Malden, 2019-11-24)
#2166
Veterans seem to be getting less and less, when in reality those running charities seem to take more in salary but give less in aid.(Nuneaton, 2019-11-24)
#2168
These centres matter(Shrewsbury, 2019-11-24)
#2169
The forces personnel that served us so well need and deserve these outlets to echarge batteries, meet like minded folk, and feel they are amongst friends again, this break away could be the difference between feeling forgotton about and feeling cared for,(Doncaster, 2019-11-24)
#2170
I work at Byng house I love my job. I don’t want to leave. Makes me sad that the guests won’t be able to stay at Byng house. So many guests have enjoyed there stay so many thank yous.(Southport, 2019-11-24)
#2171
I’m signing this petition because Bennett House does amazing work for retired armed forces members and their families. It is very beneficial to all who go through it and the staff are second to none. Please don’t close this much needed facility.
(Bushmills, 2019-11-24)
#2174
ur a disgrace to stop this(newport, 2019-11-24)
#2177
Services of this type are so limited and in terms of a safe haven and often the only means of having a holiday are vital.(NEWTOWNARDS, 2019-11-24)
#2178
It is a compassionate and fa service for our Veterans and their families.(Farnborough, 2019-11-24)
#2180
Why have HQ in London? Why not relocate to one of the sites being closed?Chief Executives and other higher managements need to look at their consciences, re-evaluate their level of pay. Stop giving yourselves massively high wages! Just a thought!
(Weston-s-Mare, 2019-11-24)
#2181
I’m a veteran and although I’ve never used these facilities I know of persons who have and benefited immensely from these breaks to be able to talk with others with like minded problems with care, empathy and sympathy to ensure they aren’t alone or lonely.(Sheffield, 2019-11-24)
#2182
My dad is an Ex-servicemen(Leicester, 2019-11-24)

#2189
Because I'm a veteran(Nottingham, 2019-11-24)
#2192
I am a War Service Pension Disabled Veteran and I believe in retaining the services that the RBL has created for our ex-service personnel(Douglas, 2019-11-24)
#2193
No public consultation would appear to have taken place and, as the RBL rely heavily on public funding they SHOULD be informed of such a major change in policy and be given the opportunity to express an opinion on how their money is spent. The RBL have resisted all efforts to discuss this openly with veterans and I feel this is outrageous.
(Lincoln, 2019-11-24)
#2194
I’m furious as these 4 homes r a Godsend 2 r Veterans with PTSD, Disabilities etc or just the elderly Veterans needing a Well Deserved break with buddies of the same mindset & I & thousands of other Volunteers did Not stand 4 hours, some 7 days a week collecting 4 the RBL & they were hoping 2 raise £50 million this yr So well have enough money 2 keep these centres going.(Liverpool, 2019-11-24)
