The poppy breaks are a oufe line for some people and they must remain.People need to know more about what the legion can do for them so that people know they can claim.

The RBL is no longer a service charity, its a business run for the benefit of the board of directors and the employees. They hoard money and pay ridiculous wages. The first 30+ million collected each year goes to pay these wages while old men and women go out as volunteers in the middle of winter with collection boxes. IT IS A DISGRACE

I am a falklands veteran and now a carer for my mother. We have only recently heard about somerset house in Weston super mare. We are currently on the waiting list for one of the disabled access rooms and were really looking forward to a nice break together.(Frome, 2019-11-23)

I believe, as a veteran and member of the Royal British Legion, that this goes against the Core Values of the RBL.Get rid of high earning administrative positions and spend the Donations where they are meant to go!
(Withernsea, 2019-11-23)
#1857
The centres provide a safe environment for the serving and former members of HM forces who are in need of respite. Keep them open, they served our nation and risked their lives for us. Lest we forget.(Enniskillen, 2019-11-23)

I am fuming they could even be thinking of doing this to our brave service men and women. IT MAKES A MOCKERY of the 11 November(Southport Merseyside, 2019-11-23)
#1871
I'm disgusted at the penny pinching attitude of TRBL. We work hard for our beneficiaries, they do not deserve their respite care too be taken away in such an underhand and uncaring waySHAME ON YOU.

#1874
Many veterans desperately need a break which they would othewise not be able to afford(Leopoldshohe, 2019-11-23)
#1876
RBL should be opening more local facilities - not closing them. The top echelon in London seem to have lost all contact with the needs of veterans etc(CARDIFF, 2019-11-23)
#1878
It seems bizarre to close a facility presumably used and useful to people in need(Stamford, 2019-11-23)

#1884
Service Families from Chester have previously had the chance to go to Byng House when their service person is deployed. It gives service families a chance for a holiday & use of the fantastic facilities. As a veteran I have not yet had the chance to apply for a break at one of the centres due to the set criteria, but feel it would be a great loss knowing that these wonderful centres are not available.(Mold, 2019-11-23)
#1890

#1892
Disgraceful decision making needs to be put to the membership.(Leeds, 2019-11-23)
#1898
This is another example of the RBL run as a business and not a charity like it is meant to be.The amount of money raised every year by the Poppy appeal is vast and can keep these places open.
RBL are only thinking of themselves and not the veterans that they are suppose to look after.
(Horwich, 2019-11-23)
#1899
i find this disrespectful that the RBL closing down these placesthe British ppl donate money each year in november by buying poppies, badges anything to do with RBL to keep these places open and to remember the sacrifice paid by the men an woman of the UK armed forces personel that are homeless, living in squalor and need the funds to help them i would like to kno why the karge amount of funds raised that is just sitting in the banks doing nothing when should b used in helping these veterans.....(Liverpool, 2019-11-23)

As amilitary veteran i would hope that the premier charity for veterans would have the courage to keep open these centres where men who have served honourably can seek comfort and assistance.(London, 2019-11-23)
#1911
I am signing this because I feel that this service is a vital part for the military veterans and there families, and when more and more service personnel are leaving the services and may suffer with mental health issues. I am also discussed with the RBL as every year they ask for poppy appeal and may loads of money out of it, shameful of RBL.(Newark, 2019-11-23)
#1921
These places are needed(Aberdeen, 2019-11-23)

Too many people are turning their backs on the armed forces and veterans, and for the RBL to now join that band wagon is the last straw. This is supposed to be a charity that supports our armed forces. Absolutely disgusting!!!!!!(Chester, 2019-11-23)

I have been an RBL member since 1992 and this is Ludicrous - to let the number crunchers take over - they are missing the whole ethos of the Royal British Legion. I am at present a Branch President , have been a Standard Bearer, a Chairman, a Welfare Officer/ Caseworker, this is just WRONG(Huddersfield, 2019-11-23)
