To stop McGarrell Reilly removing the planned crèche in Lusk and replacing it with housing

Comments

#1

Lusk needs creche places to accommodate the new house

Zoë Trevaskis (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#2

It's high time developers followed through on what they've promised. More and more houses are being built in lusk without the resources for a growing town. The creche should be built as promised.

ANGELA MC CAUGHEY (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#3

This should not be happening

Mark Boland (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#5

McGarrell Reilly have let down the people of Lusk numerous times and this facility is badly needed

Anna Clarke (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#7

This developer has gotten away with putting huge profits above everything else in Lusk for long enough. The population in lusk is exploding BECAUSE this company is building houses her. The very least the company can do is provide the miniscule amount of social amenities it is compelled to do under part V of planning regulations. We need more creches in lusk. There should be no exemptions on this.

Adele Mckenna (LUSK, 2023-05-13)

#8

We need a new creche in lusk.

Brian Clerkin (Lusk Village, 2023-05-13)

#9

There is a desperate need for childcare Faculties Lusk. Developers cannot be allowed to continue seeking changes to planning permission. Particularly when it is to remove services from local areas

Aidan O'Hara (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#10

I live in Lusk and will have to send my son to a crèche outside of lusk as there are no places available

Hannah Leonard (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#11

There is a chronic shortage of childcare places in the area. As a new parent I am now running the risk of being unable to return to the workforce after my maternity leave as despite contacting creches in my first trimester of pregnancy I am still not guaranteed a place in the area

Sarah Walsh (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#12

I live in lusk and need a creche for my daughter.

Aoife Molihan (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#13

I disagree with McGarrell Farelly removing the planned creche in lusk and replacing it with housing.

Ruth Storey (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#14

We need more childcare facilities in the area.

Denise Wade (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#15

I am the author of this petition.

Colin Browne (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#18

There is a huge shortage of childcare in Lusk and we badly need a new crèche.

Sinead Deane (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#19

I'm signing because Lusk desperately needs more creches. Considering where Lusk is situated families need these facilities to allow them to go to work and there is a huge shortage, with waiting lists for the current creches being so long the children will be too old to take up their place. It ridiculous and seems to be the trend with these particular builders. They have already removed so many of thr facilities that were supposed to be part of the original development. This is the final straw.

Fiona O'Connor (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#20

Live in local area which has not enough amenities

Gerard Geraghty (Rush, 2023-05-13)

#25

Lusk desperately needs childcare facilities. There is already a shortage, the developer is marketing these family homes without the adequate facilities to support them. Stick to the original planning and stop these underhanded tactics.

Paula Solan (Lusk, Co Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#26

Housing demand in the area has been significantly addressed - it is now time for consolidating the growth of lusk by investing in critical infrastructure and amenities needed to make lusk a wonderful place to live

Paul Alexander (Lusk, Co. Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#27

I am a Lusk resident and the number of houses built far outstrips the corresponding facilities and amenities required for a rapidly growing town on the commuter belt.

Amy Tucker (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#29

I live in Lusk, and these facilities are needed urgently. Can't keep adding housing with no facilities for the people who live here or move in!

Siobhan Connor (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#31

There are not enough crèche places in Lusk and it's only going to get worse with all the new houses. We've been waiting for a full time position for the last 4 months. We live in a society where in most households, both parents need to work and this submission to remove the crèche is absolutely absurd.

Jenny Dowdall (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#33

More places are needed

Antoinette Haughton (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#36

Facilities are needed in Lusk. Developers have failed to build 2 other planned creches in Lusk. Lusk Village creche has not been built nor has the creche in the Forge estate.

Tara McLoughlin (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#38

With the population growing.... the need for more creches are vital for the community of lusk

michelle madden (Lusk ,dublin, 2023-05-13)

#39

Lusk is seriously deficient in supplying facilities for its current and growing population. Planning authorities seem to be blindly indifferent to this problem

Aidan Arnold (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#40

Again developers being greedy and not providing adequate services as per the agreed planning permissions

Debbie Cosgrove (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#44

Lusk needs more childcare facilities like creches, to cater for the ever increasing population.

Donal Sherry (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#45

McGarrell and O Reilly have treated Lusk with complete contempt for 20 years. They shouldn't be let lay another brick in the area.

Joe Sullivan (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#46

This is just greed, creche services are badly needed

Fiona Gilsenan (Portlaoise, 2023-05-13)

#48

This Creche was a necessary inclusion in original plan. This developer continues to dump housing estates into lusk with no care for the families & their needs. We need services & infrastructure to support population growth

Elaine Grange (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#49

To stop McGarrell Reilly removing the planned crèche in Lusk and replacing it with housing

Warren Brennan (Dubli, 2023-05-13)

#54

Childcare facilities are badly needed in Lusk. Housing Developments should be built as per original granted planning permissions.

Gary Dignam (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#55

We need more facilities in lusk not just houses. Builders and theblikes are making to much money ruining the good town.

Alan Stimpson (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#58

This company consistently puts it profit over all other considerations

John Atkinson (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#59

This issue needs to addressed for our growing young population require creches and facilities.
It's a disgrace Developers are getting away with only building houses and no amenities as promised in their plans time and time again. It's disgracefully for a young growing population. It's time we are listened to and people are heard above Developers we have a voice as well. It's time we are listened to.

Levine Dignam (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#60

The Town needs another creche. There are waiting lists at the other Lusk creches

Ian Byrne (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#62

For far too long this developer (and others) have riden roughshod over the people of Lusk. They have failed to comply with previous planning permissions, have scant regard for the local environment and even less regard for what the people of Lusk really need. Just look back at the consultation period for the Fingal Development Plan when they tried to rezone huge tracts of land in Lusk and tried to remove a school designation from within a site they are currently building on without a care for the situation on the ground. The exact same thing is being attempted again here by them. The people of Lusk spoke recently and the councillors listened. Hopefully the planners listen to us again now and don't let this happen.

Conor Doyle (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#66

There are not enough childcare in Lusk, mother's need desperate go to work!!!!

Milagros Alfaro (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#69

I am leaving in Forge and since I moved here I was told there will be crèche. I wait so long and have to hire private nany for my son. So disappointed. Don't want this for other parents. My neighbour have to wait 3 years on waiting list for crèche for theirs son. Ridiculous.

Barbara Tiskovs (Lusk co Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#70

Lusk needs another creche.

Aoife Condit (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#71

I have a girl and I need a creche, otherwise I can't go back to work. I live in Lusk and currently I am in a waiting list since 2 years ago.

Maria Loska (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#72

I’m a resident in Lusk and see how the lack of crèche facilities is affecting families in the area.

Yvonne Byrne (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#73

There are so many young families and the crèche is badly needed.

John Jameson (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#76

Needless profiteering when they should be providing committed to amenities.

Michael Freeman (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#77

I object to this space been made available to anything other than a crèche facility

Olive Crosse (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#78

I am a parent of young children in lusk

Janet Fitzgerald (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#81

We are a young family and know of so many as well in Lusk and the shortage of creche services is evident and very impactful for families like ourselves.

Jeff Errington (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#82

I’m livid with developers having no regards to overall town development, residents needs and cashing on empty promises

Kasha Mahon (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#86

The fact that a developer who has consistently failed to deliver services for our town can even be allowed to request a change of planning permission for such a vital amenity is disgraceful. It's the same situation over and over again, development is for the profit of the developer and not for the benefit of the town or the residents. Shame on FCC for even entertaining this. As a resident of Lusk who had to place my children in childcare in Swords, due to lack of availability in Lusk, please do not let this happen.

Hazel Keegan (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#89

Lusk desperately needs this crèche. This should not be allowed to be turned into another house.

Graeme McNaughton (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#91

The lack of public services is appalling.
Its pushing woman out of the work force and creating a reliance on social benefits.

Laura McGrath (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#95

Houses are being built by the thousand in Lusk with no thought out into social facilities and needs of these residents buying them. As a result Lusk is fast becoming a Ghetto with gangs roaming the streets with nothing to do but get up to mischief. All down to greed by the people who should be creating a proper infastructure.

Pauline Saunders (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#99

The Creche is important for the area.

Peter O'Brien (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#104

Because this is an utter disgrace!

Bláithín O'Reilly Murphy (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#106

Lusk resident

Lou Cox (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#116

Enough already with the shenanigans...

Michael Lenehan (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#117

Fingal County Council is derelict in its responsibilities to the children and families of Lusk. There are no sports facilities for children and teenagers in the so called Sports Hub other than field space for GAA and Soccer which already have their own well established facilities and pitches.

Robert Hartigan (Dublin, 2023-05-13)

#118

I support the petition to have the Crèche built, Lusk needs it, as there aisling a rapidly growing population in Lusk and building of houses but the necessary amenities are not there. The existing ones are simply not able to cater to all the Lusk families currently or in the future.

Sophia-Maria Metti (Lusk, 2023-05-13)

#119

I oppose to removing the planned crèche in Rahenny Park and replace it with housing.

Diego Lopez (Lusk, 2023-05-14)

#120

The builders have a moral obligation to follow through on their original intention to build a crèche as part of their planning permission approval.

Elizabeth Simmonds (Dublin, 2023-05-14)

#121

I’m signing because housing should not take precedent over the need for childcare.

Janet Burns (Lusk, 2023-05-14)

#123

It is paramount that promises are kept and necessary services are provided.

Margaret O'Connor (Co dublin, 2023-05-14)

#124

There is a great need for Creche spaces within the community. Taking away this planning obligation away from the construction company would be detrimental to the community.

Ian Fitzgerald (Dublin, 2023-05-14)

#130

We need facilities in Lusk

Denise Kelly (Lusk Dublin, 2023-05-14)

#131

Holding the builders responsible for the agreed plans. Greed will get them nowhere. Place in the agreed facilities to Lusk

Justin Dawson (Dublin, 2023-05-14)

#133

I'm signing because there is a chronic lack of services in Lusk and this cannot be allowed to continue.

Niamh Bannigan (Lusk Dublin, 2023-05-14)

#134

Lusk needs Creche facilities. I understand theres a housing crisis, but there's a childcare crisis in Lusk. No new creches since 2006. Mcgarrill reilly were to build a Creche in lusk village estate and never happened. Developers need to think of their clients rather than lining their own pockets.

Paula O'Connor (Dublin, 2023-05-14)

#135

The developers should be obliged to provide the services which were included in their planning submission

Sarah Wiley (Dublin, 2023-05-14)

#137

I'm signing because these facilities are desperately required in Lusk.

Veronica Horgan (Lusk, 2023-05-14)

#141

No more houses until Lusk is given the already promised amenities it so badly needs.

Emily Neacy (Lusk, 2023-05-14)

#142

There is a need gor creche facilities

Maria Kennedy-Egan (Dublin, 2023-05-14)

#143

Lusk needs another Creche- houses built with promise of amenities and then it doesn’t happen.

Kate Motherway (Lusk, 2023-05-14)

#144

Lusk needs as many amenities as possible with all the new housing . We are seeing too many houses and not enough facilities in the village!

Karen O brien (Lusk, 2023-05-14)

#148

I object to the application to change planning permission. Lusk is in need of additional crèches and many young families have bought houses within the new estates based on the promised facilities. Changes at later date is unacceptable.

Shelley Stead (Lusk, 2023-05-14)

#149

Childcare facilities are in short supply as it is and sustainable development includes providing essential facilities for a growing population. Developers are constantly delayed construction of these facilities or trying to avoid building them at and this has to stop.

Suzanne Young (Dublin, 2023-05-14)

#151

We need a Creche in the area.

Niall Johnston (Lusk, 2023-05-14)

#152

Permission should not be granted for yet more housing while we need facilities like crèches

Fergal Hayes (Dublin, 2023-05-14)

#155

We need more childcare facilities in lusk and builders to stick to the plans that thet were granted planning permission under.

Janice Leahy (Dublin, 2023-05-14)

#157

Lusk is massively in need of adequate childcare

Tara Hatton (Dublin, 2023-05-14)

#158

Growing Community which already has a lack of Amenities. These or any other Builder who has been Granted permission to Build and are providing Amenities be it open space Shops or Crèches should not be allowed to make changes when it is of a Disadvantage to the local community.

Attracta Fogarty (Co Dublin, 2023-05-14)

#159

I'm signing because I have 2 small kids and have learnt first hand of how difficult it is to find a space in creche in Lusk. We badly need more services in town.

Jowita Rzewuska (Lusk, 2023-05-14)

#160

I'm a concerned resident of Lusk.

Hazel Mccabe (Dublin, 2023-05-14)

#164

Chronic shortage of education infrastructure.

Conor Spencer (Lusk, 2023-05-14)

#167

Lusk has already been let down by these developers with little to no amenities built as part of their commitment through planning. Lusk will never be self sustainable if these people lining their pockets through greed and broken promised commitments are allowed to continue.
Enough.

Sharon Kavanagh (Dublin, 2023-05-14)

#169

It's the same story for years as lusk has been developed. Plans are changed and facilities are taken away whether it's creches or shops or restaurants. The people of lusk and people moving to lusk to build their futures here deserve better. These developers need to stop being let away with this kind of carry on. Enough is enough

Kerrie Foran (Rush, 2023-05-14)

#170

Disgrace the lack of amenities despite continuing to build in lusk

Edel Gordon (Ludk, 2023-05-14)

#172

Have lived in lusk since 2005 and the development of facilities in the area is almost non existent - we need facilities not houses.

Killian Hurley (Lusk, 2023-05-14)

#173

There are enough houses if not too much, and we don't have room in schools or facilities for them

Fiona McDade (Lusk, 2023-05-14)

#174

The town desperately needs a creche facility among a great many other services and facilities

Garret Nolan (Dublin, 2023-05-14)

#177

This is such a huge issue impacting our community. Many families - my own included - struggle due to the lack of childcare availability. The fact that not only were we stripped of the option to choose in which facility we would like our children to be placed, we no longer even have options to get a spot in the town. Most families cannot afford to live on one income but might be forced to do so if there’s no suitable childcare. This is a complete oversight and developers should not be allowed to stray from the original plans based on which they were granted planning permissions in the first place. This loophole should be closed.

Jana Rejtharova (Lusk, 2023-05-14)

#179

Not nearly enough crèche facilities iin Lusk already.. We don't need more houses in lusk we need more facilities

Mary Bermingham (Lusk, 2023-05-15)

#180

There are not enough facilities here in lusk I'm here 16 years in a mcgarrell reilly house that has had pyrite and all ...there's not enough being provided to go with all these house

Leah O'Farrell (Dublin, 2023-05-15)

#181

There is a chronic shortage of crèches in Lusk. Developers are gaming the system, during the approval process to get customers they provide all amenities in the brochure which includes crèches and shops but at the later stage they revoke it without any further explanations. Fingal needs to look at all the previous development and developers who have done this and strongly ask them to oblige to the promises made in first place that got them the approvals.

Raddy Pars (Lusk, 2023-05-15)

#182

This is an essential resource for Lusk. what's the point in having more homes for children to live in but nowhere for children to be minded while their parents work. Lusk is already extremely stretched for childcare.

Anne Brady (Rush, 2023-05-15)

#185

I would like to stop the greedy builders who have no interest in building amenities for this community.

Caroline Matthews (Lusk, 2023-05-15)

#187

I live in lusk. I have a young family. We need this

Sam Blai (Dublin, 2023-05-15)

#188

McGarrell Reilly don't care about Lusk they are only interested in maximising profits . This is not the first time they have resubmitted plans decreasing service space in favour of housing.

Mark Coley (Lusk, 2023-05-15)

#189

Not enough creches in the area and it's the third development developers are trying to get away without putting a creche in place as was drawn up in initial plans

Ian Thorne (Lusk, 2023-05-15)

#192

Developers need to build what has been agreed. This is not the first time this developer has done this exact thing.

Niall O Reilly (Dublin, 2023-05-15)

#196

This crèche is essential due to the amount of houses already in the area.

John Leonard (Dublin, 2023-05-15)

#198

We need more amenities not houses

Leslie-Ann Nicolaou (Ballyboughal, 2023-05-15)

#199

Continued cutting corners by Developers and allowed to do this over and over again by the Council

Mark Phelan (Lusk, 2023-05-15)
