The councillor of Ward 34 has FAILED this community in every respect of his portfolio. Poor performance is an understatement. Dead wood needs to be cut. He refuses to abide by rules and has not recognised the democratically elected ward committee but instead has appointed his own team members to communicate and decide on matters on his behalf which they have no authority to do so. He is a law unto himself and he has been reported to senior members of DA with no action taken.

74 year old Councillor Bobby Maharaj needs to retire for the 2nd time in life. He lacks the vibrancy, effectiveness and skills required for a ward as diverse as ward 34. During his first tenure and now well into his second the ward has shown a rapid rate of decay. The ward is an eyesore that has seen an exponential increase in informal settlements with no plans to curb this growth. Service delivery is a nightmare. Nothing gets done if not by intervention of community members with cllr appearing for photo ops and the credit.

Despite numerous complaints of electricity cable theft, people not disposing their household garbage in public bins, which has resulted in rat infestation, taxis hooting from as early as 4:30 inessesently in our residential area, street lights which haven't worked since July 2021!
