I love GCC and how they stand for truth and gospel. I have confidence in the administration and that they have the same desire to preserve what makes Grove City College so special to us all. I hope this petition brings awareness to what may be occurring under the surface, and aids the decision-makers in taking steps to prevent the erosion of the college we love, as so many others have fallen.Bethany Bartkowiak (Camp Hill, 2021-11-09)

Leadership is being gas lit. Since the left is often more clever and manipulative than the right, they creep in unopposed. And once in power, withdraw calls for "dialogue". Not this time. Don't be naieve.David Bolls (Springfield, 2021-11-09)

I'm signing because I love GCC and what I learned during my time as a student, as well as the incredible experiences my four kids were and are engaged in as students. My desire is to protect the values that positively impacted me, and hopefully many more who follow!Debra Jones (Knox, 2021-11-09)

William F. Buckley once described Grove City College as "the last bastion of conservative thought in higher education." I chose to attend G.C.C. because it was a conservative Christian college. CRT is neither conservative nor Christian. It is a tool in the March towards socialism by the elite few in this Country. It is not enough for the College to stop it's promotion - it also needs to be at the forefront in our Nation's fight against it.Joseph Tutak (Norwalk, 2021-11-09)

While free discussion of ideas should be promoted on campus, our chapels should not be promoting anything counter to biblical truth. Maybe addressing that these ideas exist and looking at them through biblical lens, instead of looking at the Bible through the lens of these ideas, or any ideas for that matterEric Sayre (Pompton Plains, 2021-11-09)

As a former RA at Grove City College I have also experienced racial struggle sessions that operate on the presumption that the campus as a whole is racist. Justin Jose was a leader in this messaging. He is a kind and friendly person who has unfortunately adopted a worldview around race. I think the chapel program is the most concerning though. Since Dean Opitz joined I have only seen an increase in race based chapels including one full week on racial reconciliation which subtly claimed that white people in general are unwelcoming/racist towards people of other races and amped up guilt without providing reasonable solutions to the alleged problem. That week they brought a speaker (for double chapel credit) who has in the past called all Republicans racist. I believe race is a social construct that divides us and instead of emphasizing race we should treat each other as brothers and sisters in Christ. Also the adoption of pronouns goes directly against God's created order. In Gen. 1:27 so God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them. Therefore as Christians we should not go against the order that God has created nor should we deny the reality or it.Peter Walton (Pardeeville, 2021-11-09)

As a 2019 grad I have had similar concerns particularly with racially charged chapel services, some of the things I've heard from SEAD and both as an RA and a student some concerns about Justin and Liz's expressed racial views. The new righteousness being preached at GCC in these settings is entirely incompatible with true biblical righteousness. These experiences were only a small part of my GCC experience but I am concerned that they might go unaddressed or even grow.Nathaniel walton (Pardeeville, 2021-11-09)

I signed because I strongly oppose CRT and I shouldn’t have to sit in chapel and be told that I’m an inherently awful person solely because I was born into a white American family. I signed because I agree that CRT is unbiblical and should not be taught here at Grove City College. My daughter has experienced the same things worming their way into the college. Grove City ought to be one of the last stands against this. It is hostile to Christianity and to our country's foundation, and the leadership must actively, swiftly, and decidedly address it now. It must be addressed with absolute resolve and confidence in the righteousness of Biblical truth, and removed completely and permanently from the campus. Otherwise it will destroy the institution as it has so many others. Then it will be too late and Grove City will be just another once-great college.Jose, Ovitz, and all others espousing any form of CRT should be removed and replaced, not merely corrected. You can't expect someone to speak what they don't believe. Out of the heart doth the mouth speak.

I’m signing because I agree with the analysis presented here. I am also paying for a child to be a current student and she has expressed, on numerous occasions, her dissatisfaction with the Chapel programming and concern that race has overtaken Scripture. I am very concerned about the comments by the multiculturalism director and the promotion of the ridiculous pronoun designations. I recently served as an alumni rep at a college fair, representing GCC as an institution committed to its founding principles. Please stay the course.Catrin Joyner (Fuquay Varina, 2021-11-09)

I love GCC and I believe CRT is one of the most misguided and destructive ideologies to grace our continent. Studying ideas is one thing — I’m all for that — but these ideas have been presented as *TRAINING* for my son who is an RA. Teach *about* it. Don’t teach *it*.York Aspacher (TYRONE, 2021-11-10)

I love the institution and the impact it had on the three of my children who attended there (and many others). I am encouraged that others care about GCC and share the concern that it remain aligned with truth. I am confident the administration will take these concerns seriously and address them appropriately.Michael Geer (Harrisburg , 2021-11-10)

I want to see GCC keep a biblical worldview front and center. We are sacrificing as a family to send our child to GCC because of this value. If this isn't present I might as well send my kids to a state school and save the extra resources. As an alumni I'm appalled to hear how this has infiltrated the school I have such good memories of attending.John Barber (Frewsburg, 2021-11-10)

CRT has no place on the campus or in the classrooms or Chapel of GCC! Neither does any LGBT paraphernalia or supporters! I am signing because I saw how intentional and intense Res Life’s CRT training was for the RAs. The RDs were unapologetic and unable to tolerate conversations opposing their prescribed training. (I was not an RA, but knew many).Ethan Reay (Sewickley , 2021-11-10)

I have deep and profound love for GCC. I am the woman I am today because of my time there. I was thrilled when my youngest daughter chose to attend GCC. As a Valedictorian, she turned down many scholarship opportunities at secular schools for the conservative Christian worldview that is promised at GCC. I was disappointed to hear that there unBiblical theories being espoused on campus by faculty. I pray that the leadership at GCC will not bend to secular ideologies that will most assuredly destroy the college so many of us love.Megan Kuhns (Youngstown, Ohio, 2021-11-10)

We sent our children to GCC for a Christian education and to escape the indoctrination, intimidation, and rejection of Biblical truths at other places. We did not sacrifice for CRT. We were shocked when in the fall of 2019 in chapel a speaker said ALL white people are racists, and especially all white males. Chapel is not only a requirement; it places a seal of approval on the content. We also saw posters promoting movies/discussions on 'whiteness' and 'white privilege,' followed by book studies that tore down the Church. How can anyone call this hate and division anything but an offense to our Lord, especially at a college which claims Him? How can GCC countenance this and the other CRT initiatives which have sprung from the multicultural education office? Our students could have gone to more 'prestigious' schools but we saw GCC as a haven for truth. Hopefully this situation will be turned around so students don't consider transferring.Donna Hamilton (Fairfax, 2021-11-10)

I’m signing because our son is a freshman at Grove City College. We wanted the Christian worldview we have sought to teach him through the sacrifice of homeschooling to be reinforced as he prepares to go out into an ever-more hostile world. We are currently making the financial sacrifice to have him at Grove City College. We want to know that the sacrifice is worth it. We want to know whether the administration will respond by eliminating an insidious pathology while it can be removed without further damage to the body. God’s body is at risk and we are concerned. The chapel service from 11/9/2021 was less the latent attack as we saw from Bryan Stevenson and a direct frontal assault with the call directly from a chapel pulpit for Grove City College students to “repent” for the sins of others in regard to race. This facial attack on the Biblical worldview we hold dear must be countered. For those reasons we believe action must be taken now. We sent a letter directly to President McNulty, but sign this letter in solidarity with its words and sentiments. Joe ChapmanJoe Chapman (Harrisburg, PA, 2021-11-10)

I had seen in my last two years at GCC CRT creeping into life there. It is not consistent with a biblical worldview and ESPECIALLY should not be preached in chapel. It should not be preached by administration or in classrooms either, but if a professor is allowing or promoting discussion in his classroom without espousing or promoting the ideology himself, I think that’s not a problem and can actually help students in the fight against it. So I don’t particularly agree with that aspect of this petition. However, administration openly promoting CRT and other biblically inconsistent world views (i.e. putting personal pronouns on applications, speaking as if CRT is true instead of just presenting it as an ideology some people adhere to) need to cease and desist. I pray that GCC would remain an institution based on biblical values and continue to support their students in becoming men and women of God.Sincerely, Rachel (Franklin) Gramm ‘21

We have seen CRT and inclusion embraced by our oldest son's supposedly Christian high school the past two years, and thought Grove City was a school that would stand firm against it. GCC is one of only two colleges our son, a high school junior, is seriously considering and we would hate to see our beloved alma mater embrace these unbiblical world views.Kelly Woodard (Taylors, 2021-11-10)

I am looking at Grove City as an option for college, which I will begin in 2 years. I am signing this petition because I am considering GCC because historically it has favored diversity of thought over “diversity” of leftist identity politics, and teaches the classics rather than the indoctrination of woke ideology. I’m signing because I agree wholeheartedly with the author’s definitions and assertions of the danger inherent in CRT. The great Walter Williams used to be on the board at GCC. It's a shame that instead of having vibrant guest speakers from the finest conservative thinkers, they had Jemar Tisby. They did not invite a speaker to offer the conservative counterpoint to the issues Tisby raised. I am disappointed to see CRT and a secular view of identity at GCC. Today presents a great opportunity for GCC to be an excellent educational institution holding firm to the foundational principles of the Judeo-Christian worldview. Today probably more than ever, students need clarity and truth. I sincerely hope GCC returns to its conservative roots. There are so many amazing conservative authors and speakers regarding all of these issues-GCC could be making a profound impact on students and society, and I hope for all our sakes they do.Karen Brockway (Kimberly , 2021-11-10)

Critical race theory is divisive and has no place within any institution that considers itself to be founded on a Biblical worldview. I transferred here from another college, and would (regretfully) expect such doctrines taught at any other institution, but am shocked and surprised that it has seeped into Grove City. Critical race theory, and the other unbiblical teachings that the chaplain and speakers hold, show partiality. This college should know the words of James: "if you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself," you do well; but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors." I am signing this because as an alumni and donor these things deeply concern me. As a Christian committed to a Biblical worldview these things are distressing to me. I want all four of my children to consider attending GCC but if leadership has surrendered to the new cultural police I am afraid they will have to look elsewhere. Of all Christian higher education institutions I would have thought Grove City would have been willing to make a stand against such things as critical theory, CRT, and other similar ideas that stem from Marxist ideology. This is quite different from true diversity and we should be able to see through this. President McNulty, please stand strong for the promotion of a Christcentric worldview.Michael Fitzpatrick (Chambersburg , 2021-11-11)
