Theres more reasons to saving the building than there is need for parking.

Casey Massey (Jerseyville, 2020-01-30)

Historic buildings in our community are unfortunately becoming a thing of the past. The proposal given at the meeting was clear and concise and would provide a win win situation for the city the building owner and the group of people that are intresested in preserving some of our city's historical building's. In addition, it would be wonderful to see something created for our youths to do.

Tracy Fox-Clarkson (Jerseyville , 2020-01-30)

Its a piece of jerseyville history

Jarrod McEvers (Jerseyville , 2020-01-30)

I have hope that it could be refurbished to make a new business thrive in Jersey county.

April Sheppard (Jerseyville , 2020-01-30)

I’m signing to save this iconic building. So many great memories were made here. We need to preserve the older buildings and repurpose them instead of tearing everything down.

Amanda Mann (Jerseyville, 2020-01-30)

#30

I lived in Jerseyville for 60 years and do not want to see it turn down

Rebecca Henry (Farmersville, 2020-01-30)

#32

I visited this building last year and it’s such an iconic building her Jerseyville. There’s so many good uses and would be a waste if demolished.

Philip Gajewski (Stockport, 2020-01-30)

I stand behind saving our historical buildings. They are what make us unique. Once we tear down a historic building we loose a part of our past. Something we can never get back again

David Wiseheart (Jerseyville, 2020-01-30)

#39

I feel that the money could be used to improve instead of demolish.

Melissa Dandino (Jerseyville , 2020-01-30)

#41

I am originally from Jerseyville but have moved away! I would love to see this building restored!

Justine Holland (Palatine , 2020-01-30)

One - I think the moose could be an asset to the community. Two - I don’t think the city should be using tiff mo eu to tear it down. Instead use the tiff money to redo it and make it a community center - and then the city can earn back part of the money too. Or they can sell it to someone that wants to privately own it.

Pamela Sanford (Jerseyville , 2020-01-30)

This building is worth saving. It's historic, to much of the old buildings are being lost. Get it up and running again. Revenue to the community and fun place to gather. Either way, it's worth keeping for any reason.

Carol Drainer (Jerseyville, 2020-01-30)

#51

I believe the Moose should be saved!

Nicole Pegue (Jerseyville , 2020-01-30)

#52

It would be a waste of taxpayers money to demolish this historic building. It should be renovated. There are grants available for the renovation of historic buildings!

Elwyn Mielke (Medora, 2020-01-30)

#53

I believe that history is worth saving. You dont just throw out the old because it is inconvenient. The Moose is a staple in our community and should be saved. So many people in this community have so many memories there. Think how great the money could be used if invested in the building to restore it instead of replacing it with a parking lot.

Amanda Renken (Jerseyville , 2020-01-30)

#56

Let’s use this building to grow our community! We need to revitalize the town.

Amy Elliott (Jerseyville, 2020-01-30)

#57

This is a historic site that most all of my family use to go to! Highschool lunches and after school activities along with our family would rent to host our family holidays!!

Chrissie Gibson-Smith (Jerseyville, 2020-01-30)

#61

I see potential in this old building

Mandi Smith (Fieldon il, 2020-01-30)

#63

I believe that saving the Moose building is the right thing to do.

Julie Pohlman (Grafton , 2020-01-30)

#66

There is plenty of parking. We don’t need to spend the money to demo it when there could be so many other uses for that building!

Jensen Linder (Jerseyville, 2020-01-30)

#68

I agree that there is a better way to utilize this property rather than make it a parking lot. I do recognize the challenge will be a cost of the renovation.. however, income from tax revenue will continue to the city with a building on the property... but not if it becomes a city owned parking lot. If demolished, it is very unlikely to ever be turned into another revenue source for the city.

Steven Goetten (Jerseyville, 2020-01-30)

#72

I want to retire to my hometown.

Anna LaBruyere (Granite City, 2020-01-30)

#73

Im signing because we could turn it into a home for the homeless and open the kitchen to feed them and the people in need

Tiffany Hill (Jerseyville , 2020-01-30)

#78

My grandfather was a very active member at this lodge, and a pilgrim. I remember going there for lunch many a day in high school. If there are other options to tearing the facility down, I’d like to see them explored.

Richard Gimlin (Snohomish, 2020-01-30)

#80

I’m signing because we can turn into a home for the homeless and open the kitchen to feed the homeless and the people in need

Tanner Schwegel (Jerseyville, 2020-01-30)

#86

It is only right to save this building.

Tony Wilkinson (Jerseyville , 2020-01-30)

#88

We don’t need another parking lot

Scott Mifflin (Dow, 2020-01-30)

#89

I’m signing because the history of Jersey County should be valued.

Barbara Kesterson (Elsah, 2020-01-30)

I live in Florida now but grew up with my grandma cilda young bartending there occasionally and my grandfather Kenneth Young helping with the kitchen work and playing pool league... It's more than just being a historic landmark but a place that holds countless memories for my generation that had the people to share it with raising.... And for it to be demolished for a parking lot is not right

Jeremy Young (Live oak, 2020-01-30)

#92

I am signing because destroying an historic brick building for a parking lot is wasteful and short sited and adds blight not beauty and usefulness to the community

Penny Schmidt (Alrin, 2020-01-30)

#93

My grandfather was one of the charter members of the moose. Spent a lot of time there as a kid and as I grew older...a lot of good memories. I am also a member of the social club now.

Tim Buis (Jerseyville, 2020-01-30)

#98

I grew up in Jerseyville and still have family there. This building has historical value and should be restored.

Becky Greeling (Alton, 2020-01-30)

#100

So the city of Jerseyville won’t spend $200,000 for a parking lot we don’t need. And the save a beautiful building.

Brad Dean (Jerseyville , 2020-01-30)

#102

The Moose building is historical and it has a lot of good memories inside it and I just don't understand why it was let go or why it's not being used like it used to be used for weddings dinners or just to hang out have a drink. It's a shame the city leaders would think this is okay please don't tear the building down

Gil Williams (Jerseyville , 2020-01-30)

#103

Raised in jerseyville and these historic buildings need to be saved. A parking lot is a poor excuse to demolish history!

Michele Heafner (Rolla, 2020-01-30)

#107

As a former Jerseyville resident, I strongly believe in saving the historic Moose building

Lisa Nelson (Tulsa , 2020-01-30)

#109

I believe there is still life to this building. Why not an under 21 center for the youth of Jersey County. Arcade/Pool tables/Ping Pong and such forth?

Matthew Schott (Godfrey, 2020-01-30)

#110

Because I think the moose should stay.

Charlotte Suttles (Fieldon, 2020-01-30)

#123

There are other options for adding parking downtown. This historic building doesn’t need demolished.

Robert Noll (Jerseyville , 2020-01-30)

#124

The city is over paying for this building.

Matt Reynolds (Jerseyville, 2020-01-30)

#125

I have a couple reasons.
1. It’s a historical building, and it could be utilized for something beneficial.

2. $189,000 is a lot of of taxpayers money, and there are better ways to use it. Put it into our schools, put it into our roads, put it into our parks. But that’s just my two sense.

Paige Violette (Jerseyville, 2020-01-30)

#127

We need to be saving the historical buildings of Jerseyville

Cathy Akers (Jerseyville, IL, 2020-01-30)

I grew up in this town and remember this building well. If there is a chance to save it and make it historical, please do so. History is more important than a parking lot.

Brianne Zimmerman (Chesterfield , 2020-01-30)

#129

I think the building is of better use to the city than a parking lot.

Keith Steinacher (Dow, 2020-01-30)

#136

I am a former member and have many good memories of my childhood there. I would like to see it preserved if the alternative is simply a parking lot.

Brian Anderson (St. Louis, 2020-01-30)

#144

The moose building has been there as long as I can remember. I have so many memories inside the moose and with the with right person that could buy it and fix what needs to be fixed it could be a successful restaurant, event center, bar, etc.

Alease Bell (Jerseyville , 2020-01-30)

#147

I feel like our town is Dieing and we should be investing more into our community to bring in more businesses, using the buildings we already have rather than creating yet another empty lot.

David Jenkins (Jerseyville , 2020-01-30)

#148

I’d love to see this beautiful building saved

Jason Schwegel (Alton, 2020-01-30)

I believe the building should be saved and the city should not be allowed to spend this much for a parking lot.

Kayle Benedix (Alton, 2020-01-30)

My dad Cletus Beiermann spent a lot of time at the Moose and I assume was a member. And I like keeping the historic buildings

Jan Beiermann (Carrollton , 2020-01-30)

#185

Historic buildings are a heritage and should be saved for future generations.

Tony Gajewski (Lu72th, 2020-01-30)

#187

The kids of jerseyville need a safe place to go and have fun in.

Aaron Turner (Jerseyville , 2020-01-30)

#190

I disagree with the city using nearly $200k in tax dollars to purchase a building with sole intent to demolish — a building which was purchased for just $959 at auction 4 years ago. Especially with viable alternatives.
