I am following a plant based diet and want more food options in the campus caffetaria

I think we as a society need to start eating less animal products (in context of environment, animal welfare, and public health). WUR as a center of knowledge should give the right example and make it easier for its students and staff to make the sustainable and healthy choice.

I'm signing because I believe going vegan will be fair for animals and will reduce a lot of animal waste, hence helps create a sustainable environment to live in.

(Wageningen, 2017-11-15)

#14

I think at least there must be more opportunities for sustainable vegan meals at a university that is the centre of sustainability in the Netherlands.

(Utrecht, 2017-11-15)

I decided to be vegetarian because of the environmental issue. Many people are aware of the environmental footprint that eating meat has. However, vegetarian options are not in line with the demand and we all know the difficulty of finding vegetarian/vegan options.

Because the animal industry is one of the biggest factors of climate change and current nature destruction. To make the impact (''for the quality of life'') of the WUR as big as possible, the WUR should become REALLY sustain and therefore help their people with becoming more sustainable themselves (changing bad old habits). Also so the people of the WUR become more aware of the real dangers for our earth so the WUR fights more against the real causes of climate change.

I’m signing because I believe diets made up of mostly plant-based foods are the most sustainable & nutritious way to eat. With WUR being a leader in both sustainability and nutrition, I believe it should be easy for students and staff to live their values on campus.

#27

Because vegan food can be very delicious and I think it's the best we can do for the environment and our health!

(Wageningen, 2017-11-15)

#40

I think we should not only cut down on meat but also dairy products

(Wageningen, 2017-11-15)

#42

The most environmentally friendly food available is not readily available at the 'green university', which is pretty sad.

(Wageningen, 2017-11-15)

#43

I’d like to have more options for vegan lunch

(Wageningen, 2017-11-15)

#45

I never eat anything at the university because of this!

(Wageningen, 2017-11-15)

#47

I would love more vegan options at the university! Good for the animals, the environment and the world!

(Bennekom, 2017-11-15)

#51

My friend is vegan

(Raamsdonksveer, 2017-11-15)

#55

Because this is the 21st century.

(Wageningen, 2017-11-15)

#57

Veganism is great!

(Wageningen, 2017-11-15)

#61

I approve this message

(Wageningen, 2017-11-15)

#62

Vegan!!!

(Wageningen, 2017-11-15)

#63

I consider should be more options for vegans as they are a significative ammount of WUR

(Wageningen, 2017-11-15)

#67

Im vegan and there's not much for me in the cafeteria..

(Ede, 2017-11-15)

#72

Animal agriculture is the #1 contributor to greenhouse gas emissions (methane, CO2) water use, land use and deforestation. Of course energy usage and recycling helps against global warming and preservation of our nature. :) But stainability starts with diet!

(Wageningen, 2017-11-15)

#76

I'm signing because I would like to have some more variation in vegan options on the campus

(Wageningen, 2017-11-15)

#77

I need meat but I support this.

(Wageningen, 2017-11-15)

#78

I want more sustainable food options.

(Wageningen, 2017-11-15)

#83

It is time!

(Wageningen, 2017-11-16)

#87

Vegan is duurzaam en als duurzame school zou het geweldig zijn moest er meer vegan aanbod zijn.

(Breda, 2017-11-16)

#98

I'm siging because even on 'meatless monday' I am not able to find vegan sandwiches or other convenient lunches. This is ridiculous!

(Wageningen, 2017-11-16)

#100

there are many vegans and vegetarians and people who somethimes would chose a vegan option at WUR

(Wageningen, 2017-11-16)

#102

I like to consume sustainable.

(Bochum, 2017-11-16)

#103

Whenever I'm hungry and didn't bring food with me to the university, I'm always forced to get a banana or a salad. I would really like to have some more choices available..

(Wageningen, 2017-11-16)

#104

I'm signing because as a lactose intolerant I don't have much choices most of the time. Also are many studies at our University about food, which highens the standards there should be in the offer of food. The caterings should take that as a positive challenge to also try out new things and make all their customers happy or even gain new customers!

(Wageningen, 2017-11-16)

#127

Vegan food.

(Heteren, 2017-11-16)

#128

If WUR claims to be a cutting-edge university of sustainability and life sciences, it should live up to their standards and offer better vegan options, since a vegan diet doubtlessly requires less resource input, among all the numerous other benefits

(Wageningen, 2017-11-16)

#132

Other universities have more options than we do, its not hard, its expected of every caterer to offer vegetarian and vegan food in this day and age.

(Bennekom, 2017-11-16)

#134

Practice what you preach

(Wageningen, 2017-11-16)

#138

I agree with having more options for vegans. We should bring veganism and healthy eating to the people consciousness. Legumes, mushrooms and grains are missing in the canteen.

(Wageningen, 2017-11-16)

#153

Because I think the WUR should give the right example for a more sustainable environment and more vegan food options fits very well in there in my opinion.

(Wageningen, 2017-11-16)

#156

There are not enough options on campus for vegan vegetarian and people with diet specific issues. Such as gluten free.

(Wageningen, 2017-11-16)

#157

There is almost nothing nutritious I can eat on campus.

(Wageningen, 2017-11-16)

#166

I would like to eat on campus with my friends more often.

(Wageningen, 2017-11-16)

#177

Because I feel that as a university that is known for it's striving for sustainability Wageningen should have more vegan options.

(Utrecht, 2017-11-17)

#182

So many options at campus include meat/cheese

(Wageningen, 2017-11-17)

#185

While the argument that states that being vegan is more sustainable is wrong, I do believe in the freedom of choice

(Wageningen, 2017-11-17)

#190

Wageningen University should be a trendsetter in sustainability and therefore it should promote a plant based diet. Moreover, there are many vegans studying at the WUR and there should be at least one meal option for them every day at every canteen

(wageningen, 2017-11-17)

#191

Especially in the evenings I miss the option for good vegan food. I try to avoid eating meat but I can't eat cheese as well because of allergies.

(ETTEN-LEUR, 2017-11-17)

#192

I'm a hungry vegan student :)

(Wageningen, 2017-11-17)

#193

I'm a vegan and I want more vegan options on campus.

(Bennekom, 2017-11-17)

#196

I'm signing, because more options for vegan food will enable people to eat vegan, even if they don't do so every day. This will save animal lives, and lower greenhouse gas emissions. Prominent vegan options will challenge both students and faculty members to critically think about what they eat and the impact every meal has.

(Wageningen, 2017-11-17)

#198

I believe plant based meals are better for the consumer, the producer and the retailer in the long-run, as well as being kinder to animals and less impactful for the environment.

(Wageningen, 2017-11-17)

#199

I try to eat as many vegan meals as I can, and a vegan menu on campus Will just make this a lot easier. Also, a vegan menu Will likely initiate non-vegans to try Some vegan food.

(Wageningen, 2017-11-18)
