Saving The Dayton Demonz
Petition Background and Summary:
We request, as interested parties in the Dayton Demonz FHL Hockey Team, for you to consider the contents of this petition. We believe that Paul Contreras is causing great harm to the future of ice hockey in Dayton, Ohio.
Paul has:
-ignored potential sponsors.
-conducted himself in an unprofessional manner in social media (including, but not limited to, using profanity).
-yelled at staff, season ticket holders and ticketed fans.
-alienated current and potential sponsors.
-prohibited at least one player from entering the ice for a charity auction.
Paul has not:
-shown interest in grass roots efforts to promote the team.
-utilized the local human resources effectively.
-promoted the Demonz in high exposure areas such as electronic interstate billboards.
-effectively cross promoted with other local teams.
One current sponsor has made it clear, after poor communication, that they will no longer support the Dayton Demonz in sponsorship or Season Ticket holdings if Paul Contreras continues to be in his position. This is a long time sponsor of prior ice hockey teams, not a new entry into sponsorship.
There are numerous other complaints and concerns that have been raised. Many rumors are already circulating about the potential loss of the team as a whole, especially given the lack of awareness of the team within the community. Regardless of the source or reason for any of these, they should be concerning when our area has a long positive history with well advertised and promoted ice hockey teams.
Paul has not demonstrated true dedication to the players, fans or local sponsors.
Petition Action Request:
In the interest of maintaining a viable hockey presence in the Greater Dayton, Ohio area and specifically keeping the professional hockey team, known as the Dayton Demonz, we, the undersigned, strongly encourage the immediate removal of Paul Contreras, the Director of Marketing/Business Operations.
