Removal of Principal Doreen Trotz from A. Montoya and hold APS accountable

As a concerned parent of children attending A. Montoya Elementary in Tijeras, I am compelled to bring attention to the severe crisis our school is currently facing. The safety and well-being of the children are at risk, and we have grave concerns about the leadership of Principal Doreen Trotz. Despite numerous complaints filed directly with the district by both parents and teachers, Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) has failed to take appropriate action. We have documented evidence of illegal practices and policy violations, including the absence of a proper crisis team, deployment of unqualified staff during emergencies, and the presentation of fabricated or withheld policies. The lack of support for teachers and students, particularly those in special education programs, is alarming. Daily violent incidents between students, resulting in severe physical injuries, are occurring without adequate intervention or parental notification. It is particularly troubling that Principal Trotz has previously been petitioned out of two APS schools in Albuquerque, only to be reassigned to our East Mountains community rather than facing termination. I firmly believe that both Principal Trotz and APS must be held accountable for these serious lapses in leadership and safety protocols. I urge fellow parents of A. Montoya Elementary students who share these concerns to contact their PAWSS Team to file formal complaints. The safety and education of our children depend on swift and decisive action."
