Make The Expendables 3 R Rated
To Stallone, LionsGate and all who are concerned,
We, the fans of he Expendables, wish to show our disgust towards the decision that The Expendables 3 is going to be a PG-13.
It is apparent that Stallone and the crew want this movie to appeal to a new audience so it makes more money as opposed to the first two and we feel that our voice is being drowned out. Well we want to put a stop to that, and make sure that The Expendables 3 is rated R. The Expendables was created to be a throwback to the old school 80s actioners which themselves were rated R and aimed at an older audience, for the older generation. The new audience won't even know who these actors are, and won't understand the appeal of the franchise. We want Stallone and the team to realise that it's their older fans that got them to where they were and even made their comebacks possible in the first place. The first movie alone grossed $274, 470, 394 at the box office. In addition to that, R rated movies be it comedy or action have proved to be box office successes in recent years due to great marketing and positive reception such as Ted, Neighbors, Jackass 3D, The first 2 Hangovers, Bridesmaids and many more, showing that a movie can appeal to a wide audience and still cater to the adults.
We do not think that toning this movie down to an audience who doesn't even know who these actors or the purpose of those movies are, over catering to the people that have supported them through and through is necessary. The fans worked extremely hard to make the comebacks for Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Willis and many others a reality. We do not think that 3 flops should dictate whether or not the movie needs to be toned down. What we have seen so far of these movies, we have liked and we want more of what we know.
