La Cantina Community Letter of Support

Community Appeal - Cantina Live Music

We the undersigned residents of Stanford would like to add our support to Cantina and appeal to the authorities as a community to allow/ permit Cantina to continue with its live music sessions. These sessions are exclusively on a Sunday and runs for three hours. Since its inception and through music Cantina has provided a safe and secure environment for locals to come together and enjoy South African artists. The value these few hours have added to the village has been immeasurable contributing to a strong sense of community and bringing people together from all corners of Stanford. This isn’t even measuring the value of providing local artists a platform to ply their talent. We implore authorities to please make a concession for Cantina to continue with this truly wonderful South African initiative . It’s become such an intrinsic part of Stanford in the short while that it’s been happening, adding to the gentle and laid back vibe of our small town and attracting visitors at the same time which has great economic spin offs too.
The owners of Cantina had the courage and the chutzpah to turn an empty desolate spot into a thriving and buzzing place, one that we are all proud of. In return for this gift of culture, music and community we support all their efforts to keep this Sunday tradition going.
