Improve the safety of the Adel and Conde intersection in JVL

We need your help in improving the safety of the Adel and Conde Street intersection in Janesville, WI.  There currently is a yield sign in place for those traveling on Adel Street.  We are proposing that a 2-way or 4-way stop control (sign) be put in place by the city of Janesville.  The city has been contacted regarding this request and a traffic study is being completed to assess the need for a change in signage.

There are several businesses located near this intersection that are affected by this intersection.  KANDU Industries, Inc. is one of those businesses.  KANDU provides work opportunities and day programming for nearly 100 adults with disabilities at this location.  Some of our clients must cross the street at this intersection to get to/from their public transportation.  There have been numerous reports of vehicles (on Adel) not yielding while crossing Conde Street.  Visability is sometimes an issue too here with semi-trailer traffic.  This is a huge safety concern for anyone travelling through this intersection.  There have been countless near miss accidents, as well as actual collisions as a result of drivers either not slowing down at all or enough to safely cross the intersection.
