Support Hellenic Community lease at Green Point Common

PETITION IN SUPPORT OF THE APPLICATION OF THE HELLENIC COMMUNITY FOR A FURTHER LEASE FOR THE
GROUNDS & FACILITIES IT CURRENTLY OCCUPIES (PORTION OF ERF 1056, GREEN POINT)

We the undersigned, support the application of the HELLENIC COMMUNITY to extend its lease on the grounds that it currently occupies.

The HELLENIC COMMUNITY has been in its current location for the past 40 years and throughout this period has shown to be a good citizen. It co-operated fully with Council in the re-modeling of the GREEN POINT COMMON and has made a number of changes to facilitate and improve its immediate neighborhood.

Over the past 40 years the HELLENIC COMMUNITY invested substantial amounts in upgrading and maintaining its facilities.

The facilities are ESSENTIAL for its members are also used EXTENSIVELY by the wider Cape Town community.
