Against. It's should be stated up front (purpose of site). Why don't they build it beside istana.
Singapore is very small but do they need to go the the extend of building
A columbarium in such a place with high resident density and how can the
Columbarium be out of sight from the surrounding building. Unless we stay
At home 24hrs or we are blind or what. I believe they have already started
Doing a funeral service sometimes back on the plot of land when I visited the sites. ( I was very puzzled then but now I know what is happening Liao)
fernvale rivergrove, LEA, Ridge and Lush condo all KANA
NO NO NO!!!
Zonning
The space is zoned as a Place of Worship and not a commercial plot. Life corp should not be setting their office there to run funeral services, columbarium space and associated services - not to mention that they are for-profit. If were to look at offices of the Singapore Funeral Services Care Pte Ltd. (Life corp's singapore arm) and also Singapore Casket, they operating under the commerical zoned plot.
This is not right and not the way a zoned Place of Worship plot should be used.
Also a future resident of Fernvale Lea.
Fyi, think the land was sold by HDB to the company building temple cum columbarium, not NEA or URA.
Is this fair? We waited for 3 years to find out that this is what we are getting? If this is a business decision by HDB, at least be upfront from the beginning. Then those of us uncomfortable will not opt in from the start.
Contacted HDB but they couldn't give us an answer or solution. We heard the so-called already-stated-in-the-booklet-temple-could-be-used-for-columbarium-purposes story. But why is the clause in such small prints that not many people actually realised it was there?
So what's next for us? Accept that we are plain unlucky? If don't like, just forfeit our 5% deposit and life goes on? Is this the direction that HDB is going?
