It's a wonderful hospice and service. I will continue to support in everyway whatever the name is.
Guest#80 Jul 08, 2014, 12:25
My nan was in the lions hospice as it was then back in the late 1990's. I will always be grateful for all they did for her, it will be awful if they lose the lions from the name as it will feel like the end of an era. Please don't drop it. To all us local people it will always be thought of as part of lions. Please keep the name.!!!
Guest#81 Jul 08, 2014, 13:01
If the Lions are still totally committed and involved with the Eleanor Foundation their name should be reflected in the title. Otherwise The Lions (who originally founded the hospice) will disappear from the public awareness.
Guest#82 Jul 08, 2014, 13:53
The Ellenor are being selfish in disregarding the Lions name to take it out is the same as stealing
Guest#83 Jul 08, 2014, 14:57
Don't mess with things that aren't broken, everyone knows the Ellenor Lions Hospice.
Guest#84 Jul 08, 2014, 15:45
without the great efforts by the lions there would be no hospice.
Guest#85 Jul 08, 2014, 18:46
BIG mistake Rachel Holweger we're not confused. are you?
Guest#86 Jul 08, 2014, 19:39
We wouldn't have a Hospice if it wasn't for the Lions, to even remotely consider taking their name away from the 'branding' is unthinkable. it's our local Hospice, known throughout the area still as THE LION'S HOSPICE, even now with the Ellenor name in its title. It would be an insult to the Lions to change it.

Hospice name change
A disgraceful suggestion. Ellenor should be ashamed of themselves. Who do they think they are. This WAS the Lions Hospice until they muscled in. They should at least have the decency to retain the Lions name. Without the Lions there would be no hospice. I have donated to the Hospice for almost 20 years but if this proposal is implemented that support will be withdrawn

I am very unhappy about this situation as a Lions member, having worked for the hard working fund raisers for over 20 years - I find it appalling that my efforts (and fellow Lions) are being rewarded in this way. Whilst I seek no gratification for my work - I want to encourage other people to join the Lions where they can make a valuable contribution to the community!
Guest#90 Jul 09, 2014, 07:48
I have worked raising money for the Lions Hospice for over 20 years and cannot believe that the name is to be dropped - denigrading all the fund raising efforts that we have put in! Why?
Guest#91 Jul 09, 2014, 07:52
I strongly disagree with dropping the Lions name as my family has been key supporters and fund raisers for the Lions prior to the Hospice opening and since. It is an outrage if their name is taken away.
Guest#92 Jul 09, 2014, 09:46
Shouldn't happen. Lions should continue to be recognised for the efforts they made to set up and fund this establishment.
Guest#93 Jul 09, 2014, 10:41
They will lose a lot of support and therefore financial help by dropping Lion from the name.
Guest#94 Jul 09, 2014, 22:03
Re:
Yes and what would this achieve apart from wasting valuable funds changing signs, headed paper etc. Who on earth dreams up these ideas.
Guest#95 Jul 10, 2014, 06:57
The Lions have given many thousands of pounds every month and will continue to with support this hospice, but if your remove the Lions Name from the Hospice title, where are you going to get your money from.
you have already stopped the coffee mornings.

The people who are running the Hospice do not understand where the money was raised by the Lions and built by the Lions. So who owns the Hospice ?.
Guest#97 Jul 10, 2014, 17:22
Local people know it as The Lions Hospice so please keep the name Lions in its title
Guest#98 Jul 11, 2014, 08:00
Has this organisation have the money to pay Lions back for the support they have given. just another one that think you can use people to get what they want.then cast them away.
Guest#99 Jul 12, 2014, 16:03
I have already written to the kent messenger. I feel very strongly about this
Guest#100 Jul 13, 2014, 16:40
I have always known the Hospice as the Lion's Hospice as do many other local people. Please dont change it's name
