Christmas Update
2023-12-23 08:27:05Dear Supporter
Its hard to believe that this year is coming to an end, the time has flown by and it doesn't seem that long since this petition was launched back in March.
a lot has happened this year and we are thankful for the support we have received and continue to receive. It's been a tough few months recently, we've been flooded out on three occasions and on Thursday of this week during the strong winds trees around the site have been blown down causing extensive damage to a section of track calling an end to plans for our annual Christmas steam up and any running on the track for the foreseeable future, we've as yet not had chance to assess the damage as trees need to be made safe beforehand, but we know that in the new year we have some hard work ahead repairing and reinstating the track, which is difficult when we have a limited number of willing and able bodied members to do the work.
We always welcome new members to join our friendly society, you don't need to be a model engineer or even have an interest in railways, there's always other things that need doing like ground maintenance, hedge and grass cutting etc, track maintenance and repairs.
Please get in touch if you're interested.
May I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and again thank you for your support.

Update
2023-11-22 12:05:49Since my last update we still haven't got the license in our hands. Our trustees had to re-sign the agreement after alterations were made, this is about to be handed back to our solicitor for passing onto the landlords solicitor.
The sale of the land has not yet been completed and we hope to be introduced to the new owner before the end of the year, then our negotiations and possibly fight to stay on the land and in our current layout starts over again.
thank you all for your continued support and to our recent additions to our campaign we now have 1097 signatures to save Rugeley Miniature Railway.

Update
2023-08-23 15:12:59Since our last announcement in June, very little has happened, we still await the promised 2year license, although things are starting to happen as we have signed the agreement, it just needs signing by the other side, the license states it'll be valid until the end of August 2025.
Our fight will never end until we have documentation in our possession that states we will have an indefinite time on the site we occupy.
Thanks for your support, we now have a total of 1072 signatures and it's slowly increasing.

June update
2023-06-23 16:52:17After last months news that we have been offered a two year license, well the negotiations between our lawyers and the site owner's lawyers are still ongoing, our lawyers keep pushing for a resolution to get the license issued but the other side are dragging their feet.
We have a meeting with the site owner's representatives next week so we hope to get some answers.
Thank you for your continued support, we now have 1057 signatures, not bad going in four months.

May update
2023-05-06 06:32:52Some positive news, after a recent meeting with the current site owners, we have been offered a two year license that allows us to remain on site in our current layout.
The site is to be sold this year and we then have to negotiate our continuing future with the new site owners.
We are not out of the woods yet but we're heading in the right direction.
Thank you all for your support, we have 1039 signatures in two months.
Please continue to spread our petition. We hope one day in the future to be able to open up for the public.

Rugeley Miniature Railway Update
2023-03-31 09:48:25After just a month of being active we have managed to collect 1003 signatures to date, a massive thank you to you all.
Your support and that of our local MP's and councillors has gone a long way in helping our cause of saving our railway in its current form. We have been given a short respite period by the current site owners, they won't touch our railway and destroy the area of land it sits on by the bulldozers, but what happens when the new site owner takes over is yet to be seen, our campaign continues but turned down slightly until we know for sure that we have been successful in saving this wonderful gem for generations to come. Please continue to share amongst your family and friends the more signatures and positive comments we receive the better. Thank you again.
