Please see the message below created by Barry and Karen Hutchinson on Sept 9th regarding candidates sympathetic to Port Albert Residents concerns, who are running in the upcoming elections. Many thanks.

Dear all Good morning Family and PA Neighbours,   A week ago we emailed all the new candidates running for Council in the upcoming election, inviting them to meet with us so we could learn more about them.  Three responded and came to meet with us last evening.     The three candidates we met with were:   Curtis Blake Evan Hickey Patti Wilkinson   Curtis lives on Ashfield Street in Port Albert, Evan lives on the Nile Road and Patti lives on Hwy 21 (you may know her location as she owns Pzazz Salon and lives on site), so all are "nearby" neighbours.    Their concern, care and passion to represent the interests of the residents of ACW Township was very evident.   All three were very interested in learning about our particular situations here in Port Albert with respect to the Port Albert Master Servicing Plan.  Three other residents also joined us, and we were all able to share our variety of concerns and issues with the candidates.     We believe it is fair to say these three candidates all agreed that there are multiple problems with the Port Albert Master Servicing Plan and amendments are needed.   We feel very confident in supporting these three candidates and encourage you to learn more about them for yourselves.  There will be some "all candidates" meetings over the next few weeks, so if you are local, you may want to find out about those.  Each candidate has a Facebook Page specifically for the election; we looked them up last evening and they are easy to find.  Also, each candidate has been invited to submit a piece about themselves in an upcoming issue of the Blyth Citizen newspaper, so you may want to watch for that.  You may not see signage for all these candidates as some are using digital means and their online presence to promote themselves and share information.   We would like to encourage all our family and neighbours to be sure to vote on 24 October (or earlier).  It is worth mentioning we learned that although we can each vote for 5 Council members, it is not necessary to use all 5 of our votes, and in some ways, it can be detrimental to the success of candidates we support the most.   Voting information, including checking if you are on the voters' list can be found here and here.  Apparently voting will be a "no paper ballot" process, and all voting will be done by phone or online.     We are simply sharing what we've learned.  Please feel free to share this message with neighbours who may be interested and may not have received it.   Take good care, Wishing you all an enjoyable and safe fall and winter, Barry and Karen Hutchinson
