Closing of petition
2020-10-17 18:49:10Dear Signatory
Thank you very much for signing out petition. Your support and contribution to our objection to the current planning application for development at Ripon barracks has been much appreciated. The petition is now closed.
The petition reached an impressive 788 signatures and has now been forwarded to Harrogate Borough Council Planning Department.
Next steps-- HBC planning department (officers) will checks the outline planning application and undertake checks with other stakeholders e.g. NYCC. This could take months, even up to 1 year considering the size of the application. The application will then go to the Planning Committee, made up of councillors on HBC. If granted then Hones England will submit a full planning application.
If rejected then they can appeal, which they will definately do, and an independent adjudicator will consider the application plus all the public comments
It is not over yet--this is just the beginning of what might be a long haul until we get the right development that this lovely city deserves.
