Long Island Bus Riders Union will be having monthy meeting on Tuesday, July 26th at Broadway Mall Food Court at 5:30pm to 7pm in Hicksville, where you can have your own dinner from food court vendors, Ikea Restaurant or nearby restaurants outside mall.

Please join us as we fight for better bus service in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

Service Restoration

Service restoration of previously eliminated routes will be rolled out in two phases and will be reengineered to match 2015 customer demand. Expect some routing changes and schedule adjustments, which will be detailed in the coming weeks.

n80/81: Monday-Saturday service
Rockville Centre Community Shuttle: Peak weekday service
Mercy Hospital Community Shuttle: Peak weekday service

September 4th
Elmont Flexi: Peak weekday service.
Wantagh-Hicksville Community Shuttle: Peak weekday service
Freeport Community Shuttle: Peak weekday service

The following will not be restored due to low ridership numbers and alternative routes:

n19 (Sunrise Mall to Babylon) please use the Suffolk County Transit new s20 service along Montauk Hwy for these trips

 

Please note some of buses might operate as Responsible On Demand Buses, where general public has to call to make reservation for your bus to show up at bus stops.

 

Please note this Tuesday, April 19th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm, Long Island Bus Riders Union will be having meeting at Broadway Mall Food Court to discuss bus issue.

Example of Reservation Bus: Dial-A-Ride is shared public bus service where regular public and seniors/disable citizens could take this bus because there are no fixed-route buses go there.

Good afternon, bus riders. If you're interested, Long Island Bus Riders Union will be having annual meeting at 100 Duffy Av Hicksville from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at Local #1199SEIU room on 3rd floor.

Long Island Bus Riders Union are trying to fight to restore several buses that cut by NICE Bus.

This group of bus riders who depends on NICE Bus discuss issue with NICE Bus, and how we could get stores/restaurants/businesses along discontinued bus routes to help restore our buses.

NICE Bus Public Hearing Nov 19th and Long Island Bus Riders Union Meeting Nov 24

Good evening! NICE Bus will be holding 2 public hearing at Nassau County Legislator Building at 1550 Franklin Av at 3pm and 6pm on Thursday, November 19th, where bus riders can testify against 25 cent fare increase for cash and GoMobile fare or service cuts on n14, n17, n50, n51, n80 and n81 buses.

For this Mineola, you have n22, n22X Express, n23, n24, n40 and n41 buses stop at Mineola Station. n15 Rush Hour service via County Seat Drive stop at Old Country Rd.

You could also take LIRR's Ronkonhonhoma Branch, Oyster Bay Branch or Huntington train of Pt. Jefferson Branch to Mineola Station.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Long Island Bus Riders Union will be having next meeting on Tuesday, November 24th at 2015 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at 100 Duffy Av, Hicksville at Local 1199 SEIU phone banking room Rm 300.

If main entrance is closed, please use the service entrance on right inside parking garage, and tell security you're here for LIBRU meeting.

To get there: n20, n20L Limited, n22, n24, n48 Shuttle, n48, n49, n50, n78, n79, n80 and n81 buses to Hicksville Station.

LIRR's Huntington train of Pt. Jefferson Branch, Ronkonhoma and few Montauk Branches will go to Hicksville Station.

Good evening, bus riders!

On Tuesday, November 24th, 2015 at 6pm, Long Island Bus Riders Union, non-profit organization and group of bus riders will be having meeting to discuss issue about NICE Bus service cut, fare increase on Cash Fare/NICE GoMobile fare, well as Suffolk County bus cuts as well.

Meeting Location for Long Island Bus Riders Union will be at 100 Duffy Av #300 in Local #1199 SEUI room on 3rd floor. After 6pm, use service entrance located inside parking garage, press buzzer and tell the security for Long Island Bus Riders meeting.

Also this is place where you can share you experience on NICE Bus, HART, Suffolk County Transit or City of Long Beach Buses, so please join the meeting.

We also works with CarLess Long Island Day, which is non-profit organization, where members discuss pedestrian safety, bus issue, train issue, well as bicycle and walking issue.

Good Afternoon,
The next Long Island Bus Riders' Union meeting will be on next Tuesday, October 13th in the SEIU 1199 phone banking room, (100 Duffy Avenue, RM 300, Hicksville NY). The meeting will run from 6-7:30, this month we are gearing up for NICE Bus proposed fare hikes and service cuts, and beginning to mobilize for potential November public hearings.
